Yes, I'm here.

I guess you thought I was a flash in the proverbial pan.

No, you are not that fortunate.

I was lost for words after the Tuscon incident.

I am quite capable of throwing an all out bitch fest .. but, did not wish to join that circus.

I only wish to say, I hope only the best outcome for everyone involved .. 

Even the shooter. 

Though, I don't know what that means.

I only know ..  If You are not part of the solution .. You are part of the problem.

I intend to reopen my mind and door to allow new stories and opinions to enter.

Forgive my disappearances and please be patient, as I don't always have something to say and at times it could come across as ramblings. It's just me .. I've been told it's called "scattered".

Now I am not complaining but, at the moment, I have no real daily schedule.

So, I am not always sure what day it is ! .. More on this later.

I suppose my posting will be as random as my subjects.

Random Act of Culture

This link, to me, is one of the amazing pleasures of life ..
I could wax on about so many ills that are trying to overshadow us .. but no .. I will not.

It is time to take the world back from the evils and the crazies.
It is our world and we decide what it is to be seen as.

I see beautiful places and wonderful people.
I see what is good .. as I step away from the small number who see or create what is unacceptable to me.

I prefer the kindness and joy that is evident in nearly every corner ..
Sometimes it may be obscured by the long shadow of an act or word that is hurtful.
But, it is a shadow and at the height of the day shadows become small and can dissapear.

Shine the light and enjoy this Random Act of Culture .. and good.

Post Holiday Wind Down and The Circle of Life

I'm am on break as I write,  from boxing up the "holiday".
There are Santa's, snowman and other singing, dancing bears etc. strewn about, laying in wait for the removal of batteries.
All the fake foliage has been bagged and tagged.
The nutcracker soldiers are again in their box .. yet the tree remains .. at least the big one.
Yes .. we have two.

There is a magic that Christmas brings .. if allowed.
A joy and innocence .. if left to it's own.
I like to preserve it as long as I can .. without letting it becoming tired, old and unwanted.
In a couple of days it must all be stashed, as even the Orthodox will be done with Christmas.
This is ok, .. and as it should be.

Like life.

This is part of the circle of life .. though now it is dark so early .. the days are getting longer.
Soon the first blooms of spring will soon follow and the blasting heat of summer.
We should not mourn what was .. we should honor the past and rejoice in the future.
The future is a new beginning .. another chance to enjoy and revel and perhaps improve ..

Apply this in all things and situations and you will never be consumed in sadness or regret.

Tonight I will toast all those whom I have know and think with anticipation to the future and what it will bring.
To every thing there is a season. Cheers.

Blistering Annoyance

Top of the morning and on to the newest adventure ..

We recently purchased Pedometers, seemed like a good way to remind ourselves to keep moving in this car-centric life we lead.

Today is the day we begin to get healthy.
Well ..there is nothing healthy about trying to get to the thing .. it was in a .. Blister Pack !
The name alone should have been enough of a warning.
The edges curved with nary a single corner, no indication of entry was provided..
Time to break out the scissors !!!
"OUCH !" she says .. as she cuts the shell .. and .. the shell cuts back!

Should bandages and anti-bacterial cream come with each purchase?
Perhaps a gift card to the nearest emergency care unit?

I don't know how much longer I can allow myself to be damaged, while trying to improve my life ..
